Looking for some fun things to do in October?  Well our area has an abundance to choose from!  We’ve looked high and low and picked 5 of our favorite Fall/Halloween activities going on in our area this month.  Let us know if you'll be attending any of them, maybe we'll see you there!


The N.C. State Fair! - October 17, 2019 - October 27, 2019 at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds.  1025 Blue Ridge Rd., Raleigh, NC 27607.  The N.C. State Fair is a first-class, family-oriented entertainment and educational event occurring each Oct. in Raleigh. Our Fair is the largest event in the state of N.C. and the largest 11-day agriculture event in the nation, annually drawing one million visitors. Visit website for complete music performance schedule and fair updates.  The fair is all about seeking out and showcasing the finest of N.C. Whether that be in a horse show, livestock show, culinary, handicraft or art competition or with the "Homegrown Music Fest" concert series (11 days, three stages, 117 concerts), we are proud of the talented people of our great state. The State Fair is a way to celebrate everything that is uniquely N.C.

Oktoberfest German Festival - Presented by the Apex Sunrise & Cary MacGregor Rotary Clubs in collaboration with the Town of Cary, the 6th Annual Triangle Oktoberfest, the largest in Central North Carolina, is an authentic German festival focused on family fun, traditional Bavarian food and fare; and plenty of local and authentic German beers from Munich, all to support the U.S. Veterans Corp and other great charities within our community and abroad.
Live entertainment will again showcase The Polka Brothers from NYC (a four-man band of young polka lovers known for their extensive repertoire of classic favorites and cover versions of contemporary songs), the most exciting Wiener Dog Races & Parade in N.C., a kid-friendly Kinder Platz (inflatables, face painting and games), Masskrugstemmen (Stein Hoist), Hammerschlagen (Hammer-Striking) competitions, and the highly anticipated Miss (and Mr.) Oktoberfest contest. Come enjoy college games in the Futbol Zone, check out German cars along the AutoBahn, and watch the U.S. Veterans Corps’ Rappelling Team in action.


Witches on Salem Street – Friday October 25, 2019.  Shop, eat, and have some witchy fun on Salem Street!  Come down early with the family (5-7pm) and stay late with the witches (7-9pm)!  Stay tuned for special events and discounts for Witches Night Out! Be sure to wear your witches' hats for special discounts at your favorite shops!

TRICK or TREAT on SALEM STREET - Sunday, 27 October 2019 from 3:00-4:30.  Kids come Trick or Treat on Salem St!  Salem Street will be closed for trick or treating from 4-6pm in your favorite downtown. Dress in costume!  Cotton candy, popcorn, and inflatables in front of the Apex Chamber of Commerce.  Teal Pumpkin Stations for Allergy-Free Treats.


Town Haunted Trail: Full Fright - October 19th, 2019: Family Trail 5:00-6:00pm, Full Fright, 7:00-9:00pm.  Join us for a terrifying walk in the dark through the woods with unexpected surprises around every turn! The full fright trail is not recommended for children under the age of 10. Children between the ages of 10-12 should be accompanied by an adult.
